THURSDAYS Children's Story Hour ~ Thursday, 4:00-5:00 p.m. ~ Grades K-2 ~ An after-school adventure of storytelling and creative activities. Children's Mini-Theater
THURSDAYS StorySeekers* ~ 4:00-5:00 p.m. ~ Ages 10-12 ~ Children develop storytelling techniques including oral storytelling, puppetry, and creative dramatics. Auditorium.
FRIDAYS T.O.T.S. - Time Out For Toddlers ~ 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.~ Ages 18 months to 3 ~ Join Toady the Frog for books, rhymes, fingerplays, songs, and puppets! Children’s Mini-Theater
Tech Tutor*  Do you have specific questions about using a computer or other tech device? Need help with certain software applications? Sign up for a one-on-one tutoring session with a staff member and get your questions answered. Ask at the Reference Desk for available days and times.
Nov. 25: Craven Chess Players*~ 4:30-5:30 p.m. ~ Ages 8 & up ~ Show off your best moves against other chess fans! Whether you’re a chess master or just starting out, come join us for some board time. Auditorium
Nov. 25: Teen Scene*~ 6:00-7:00 p.m. ~ Grades 6-12 ~ Meet the Author ~ National Author’s Day is observed in November. Celebrate at the library by spending an evening with local, awardwinning author Leslie Tall Manning. She will discuss her recent novel, I Am Elephant, I Am Butterfly. Then participate in a fun writing activity! Auditorium
Nov. 27: NaNoWriMo Write In~ 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. ~ Drop in to Write In during our NaNoWriMo days to put pen to paper or cursor to text-end! We will provide coffee, writing resources, and a quiet space to focus and write.

The Library will close at 6 p.m., November 27, and remain closed November 28 and November 29 for Thanksgiving. We will reopen November 30 at 9 a.m.
Nov. 30: Saturday @ the Movies ~ 3:00-4:45 p.m. ~ They Shall Not Grow Old ~ Director Peter Jackson adapted old WWI footage into movies as we see them today. See and hear WWI fighters describe in their own words their lives, their views on the war, and their hopes for the future. This movie is rated R. No one under 18 will be admitted. Auditorium

~ Drop in and help the Friends of the Library decorate stockings for children in kindergarten, first, and second grades at Oaks Road Academy this holiday season. Auditorium
Dec. 5: Artist of the Month ~ 7:00-8:30 p.m. ~ The Twin Rivers Art Association invites you for a reception and viewing of Dale Quidley’s acrylic paintings. Auditorium
Dec. 7, 14, & 21:  Tai Chi Easy with Jan ~ 9:30-10:30 a.m. ~ Learn the benefits of better balance and circulation through this ancient practice for the mind, body, and spirit for participants of any ability or age. Please bring a mat or towel & water. Note: No class will be held December 28. Auditorium
Dec. 9: Stuff the Stockings ~ 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ~ Now that the stockings are all decorated, come help the Friends fill them with goodies to give to the students at Oaks Road Academy. Donations for stocking stuffer gifts are being accepted at the library through Sunday, December 8. Auditorium

Dec. 10:  Nite Owls Book Club*~ 6:30-7:30 p.m. ~ The library’s evening book club will discuss Sunday’s Child by Tom Lewis. The reading group is closed to new participants at this time. Conference Room
Dec. 11: InBeTWEEN Wednesdays*~ 4:00-5:30 p.m. ~ Grades 3-5 ~ Cookie Decorating 101 ~ Celebrate the holidays by decorating cookies! We’ll provide the cookies, frosting, decorations, and fun. You provide your creativity and appetite! Auditorium

Dec. 18: Children’s Movie Day*~ 4:00-5:45 p.m. ~ Grades K-5 ~ The Nutcracker and the Four Realms ~ When Clara finds a magical gift, she travels into a parallel world where a group of mice soldiers and others help her retrieve the key to stabilizing the land. This movie is rated PG. Auditorium
Dec. 20: Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Celebrate Ugly Christmas Sweater Day with the library. Visit the library wearing your favorite ugly Christmas sweater and get a treat!

Dec. 21: Gingerbread Team Challenge*~ 2:30-4:00 p.m. ~ Grades 6-12 ~ Come add crazy details and deck out a gingerbread house worthy of the Gingerbread Man himself! Register solo or with a friend for this extreme event. Deadline to register is December 18. Limited registration. Auditorium
