Library Cards

Who may obtain a library card?

Anyone may obtain a free library card by presenting, in person, an acceptable form of identification which includes a current address.

You are responsible for:

    1. all materials borrowed on your library card,

    2. any fines charged to your card, and

    3. notifying the Circulation Librarian when your card is lost or stolen or your address changes.

I've lost my library card, how much is a new one?

There is a $3.00 fee for replacement for lost cards.

Can my child have a library card?

Children under 13 years must have a parent or guardian present to register for a library card. The parent or guardian must show an acceptable form of identification.

Borrowing Policies

Books

To check out or renew a book, a patron must present his or her library card and have paid for all overdue fines or lost books and materials.

How long may books be checked out?

Books are available for a 3 week loan period.

How many books can I check out?

You may check out as many books as you can read in the three week check out period. (There is no limit.)

My book is late, how much do I owe?

Books returned after the due date receive a fine of 20 cents per day.

Do I have to return the book inside the library?

You may use the outside Book Return or AV Return for your convenience. Some items, however, do need to be brought inside.

Interlibrary Loan items need to be returned to the Reference Desk.

How do I access my account online?

Visit the library online catalog by clicking the link in the upper left of this page or by visiting https://cpcrl.tlcdelivers.com.

Log in to your library account by clicking the "Log In" link in the upper right portion of the catalog screen (in the gray line across the top).

Use your library card number and the last 4 digits of your phone number for your log in information. If you have created an EZ Login, you may use that, too.

Audiovisuals

Audio Cassettes and Compact Discs

Cassettes and CDs are available for a three week loan period and can be renewed once. Overdue cassettes and CDs are assessed a fine of 50 cents per day.

Video Cassettes/DVDs

VHS tapes and DVDs are available for loan with a video club registration to patrons 18 and over with no outstanding fines or materials.

Non-Fiction Videos/DVDs have no rental fee and may be checked out for 3 weeks. Overdue fines are $1.00 per day, with a $10.00 maximum fine per title.

Fiction Videos/DVDs have a $1.00 per title fee when the videos are checked out. Videos may be checked out for 1 week. Overdue fines are $1.00 per day, with a $10.00 maximum fine per title.

Audiovisual Equipment

Audiovisual equipment (i.e. film projectors, screens, etc.) is available for loan with a valid adult library card and AV registration to patrons 18 and over with no outstanding fines or materials. A $5.00 per day fine is charged for overdue materials.

Reserves

Books currently checked out or located at another CPC member library may be placed on reserve at the Circulation or Reference Desks or through the library's online catalog. Detailed instructions for placing items on reserve are available. Once the book arrives at the library, the patron is notified that the book is at the library. The patron has 5 days from the date of notification to pick up the book.
